Injection Therapy

Injection therapy refers to a medical treatment approach where medications or substances are introduced into the body through injections. These injections can be administered into various parts of the foot and ankle, such as muscles, joints, fascia, fat, and tendons. The purpose of injection therapy can vary depending on the specific medical condition being treated and the type of injection used. Below is some treatments we offer.

SOME INJECTION ARE GIVEN UNDER ULTRASOUND GUIDENCE IN THE OFFICE

Steroid Injection

Dexamethasone is a synthetic corticosteroid medication that is often used to reduce inflammation by injection for a immediate and potent effects, particularly in cases where a rapid response is needed.

A Kenalog injection refers to an injection of the medication known as triamcinolone acetonide, which is a synthetic corticosteroid. Triamcinolone acetonide is used for its anti-inflammatory and more long acting for joint and fascia pains

Both are good options for painful skin scars.

Toradol Injections

Toradol is the brand name for the medication ketorolac, which belongs to a class of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used to relieve moderate to severe pain and inflammation. These injections are given at the location of the foot and ankle pain

B12 Cyanocobalamin
Injections

Nerve Regeneration: Vitamin B12 is essential for the maintenance and repair of nerve cells. It supports the myelin sheath, a protective covering around nerves, and promotes the growth and regeneration of nerve fibers. B12 injections can aid in nerve repair and function.

Use in isolated nerve pain like Morton Neuroma's

Fat Atrophy Injections

Leneva is a injection to treat recurring callus, pain in the ball of the foot or heel and even ulcerations due to loss of fat padding. As we age, the fat pad to our feet shifts due to hammertoe and bunion deformity or repeated steroid injections for plantar fasciitis. The fat pad thins down, causing increased pressure points and pain with every step we take.  Leneva is an allograft adipose matrix derived from donated human tissue used for tissue reconstruction. This is a safe and clinically proven solution to help with foot pain without steroid injections or surgery. Leneva is also FDA approved.

Ideal for painful callus, metatarsalgia, sesamoiditis, painful ball of the foot pain

Durolane Injections

Durolane is a brand name for a medication called "NASHA" (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid), which is used in medical treatments, particularly for joint-related conditions. It's a type of viscosupplement, which means it's a gel-like substance containing hyaluronic acid that is injected into joints to help alleviate pain and improve joint mobility.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component found in the synovial fluid of joints. It acts as a lubricant and shock absorber, helping joints function smoothly. In conditions like osteoarthritis, the quality and quantity of natural hyaluronic acid in the joints can decrease, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.

Durolane is FDA approved for knee arthritis BUT NOT foot or ankle arthritis; however, acts in the same fashion as the knee

Amniotic Injections

Amniotic fluid allograft is an all-natural regenerative medicine treatment that is comprised of just 100% amniotic fluid derived from a living, healthy donor. This fluid is rich in naturally occurring growth factors and can greatly aid in the healing of stubborn pain or injuries.

The process of replacing or "regenerating" human cells or tissues damaged by age, disease, or trauma can be effective with amniotic fluid injections because they are rich in growth factors that boost the regenerative process.

PRP Injections

With Platelet Rich Plasma, your blood is withdrawn, placed in a centrifuge to separate the different types of blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets).  After being separated, the platelet-rich blood sometimes has 10 times a richer concentration of growth factors. Your doctor then injects this platelet-rich portion of blood directly into the area of your injury. Usually with a single injection, although sometimes a series is appropriate.

PRP has a healing effect, an anti-inflammatory effect, and a pain-relieving effect that can be used to treat a variety of problems from tendons to joint issues
