Insurances

Podiatry services are covered by most insurance plans. We understand the process of submitting your claim and have the expertise to ensure rapid submission of your claim. For most patients, the experience of having their medical treatments paid for by the insurance company is an effortless and smooth process.

However, some plans deductibles are high and therefore offer Self Pay options.

We do also take Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Discover and American Express. However there will be a 3.5% fee charged by the merchant.

We prefer Cash or Cheque.

All Service and Products HSA or Flex spending accounts can be used.

FAQ

I have a high deductible that I will not reach this year can I just pay for the visit and not bill insurance?

YES, that is why we offer Self Pay options that are have no surprise costs an fees. However, we will not be able to bill insurance for the claim and payment is due at the time of the visits.

Do you accept Medicaid or any of the Medicaid plans?

We do not accept any Medicaid plans. Patients can be seen but are Self Pay.

Why do we charge 3.5% credit card fee?

Due to the increase operation costs, reduction of insurance fee schedules and increase merchant fees. We are not long able to absorb this convenience fee. Patient have the option to pay cash and cheque.

I have an insurance that is not on the list, how can I find out if you accept it?

There are hundreds of insurance providers in MI/ OHIO and we only added a small amount of insurance. Feel free to contact on the "Have a Question" or email us with your insurance question

Why do we require the Intake form complete before my appointment?

This reduces the time of your visit, we are able to assess your Insurance, approximate cost,  and your prior history with MyChart. We try to make it as time efficient as possible for the patient.

Will I be able to get an approximate cost of the service?

YES, as the cost is dependent on what insurance you have. The cost is not the exact amount as it is pending your insurance, If you are looking the exact cost then our Self Pay Option would be a better option.

I would like to have surgery, what will be my total cost?

This is a very tough question as our office ONLY bills what Dr Martins does NOT the cost of the hospital or the anesthesiologist. However, we do provide the CPT codes we will be charging and the approximate cost of the surgery. Patient at that time are able to call the hospital system the surgery will take place and ask their approximate cost.

Why is the cost of the service asked for upfront when the deductible is not met? 

Insurances have gotten worse on timely reimbursing for services. The minimum time insurance take to is 30 days and can take up to 6 months. Our office cannot wait 1-6 month for a services that was provided. When and if the insurances pays the claim we will have a physical check ready to be picked up at the office.

I have a Out of Network Insurance, can i still be seen?

YES, we do submit the claim on your behalf. We can look up your insurance and tell you the approximate cost of your visits.

My insurance is not on the above list, how do I know if you take it?
