Although Dr. Martins is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery, he will always try to avoid surgery since conservative non-invasive treatments work for most conditions
Many people suffer from foot and ankle pain and don’t ask for help. From kids in sports, adults at work and elderly suffering from past injuries and arthritis everyone at one time or another have dealt with foot pain. With the age of social media, Dr Google and youtube to name a view patient’s are looking for help. At DocMartins we try to cut through the advertising and product promises to give our patients our experience, evidence based medicine, and success stories.
At DocMartins Foot & Ankle we feel conditions originate from 1 or all of 3 reasons.
1) Trauma
2) Foot Deformity (genetics)
3) Systemic Conditions.
We feel understanding WHY patients have pain is key to creating a detailed treatment plan.
At DocMartins we think ahead and break down treatment into 3 categories
1) Conservative
2) Advanced
3) Surgical.
Every patient is in a different and unique situation in their lives. Our doctors listen and take patients’ goals seriously. We understand that the doctor- patient relationship is key to a successful outcome. That is why we offer direct messaging via MyChart, offer his personal number to surgical patients, monthly education email newsletter and same day appointments.
